Our Tea Party with a difference

We want to thank all the 'friends of LTA' who supported us recently at our Tea for Ability Tea Party.

We were joined by clients, temps, neighbours and friends who had obviously heard that the staff were using their domestic skills to provide cakes for our tea party. The show stealer was Jackie's white chocolate cheesecake (she'll supply the recipe if you email her) and, of course, Jan's inimitable scones. Linda's Lemon Drizzle cake was a close third, although the debate about its similarity to Tesco's own still goes on!

Our day was in support of Leonard Cheshire Disability and in particular the Pendleway Supported Living accommodation with residents from Pendleway also coming down to join us. The charity provides services such as care homes, resource centres, personal support and supported living. Our own Jackie O'Sullivan, who is seconded to the Charity for the summer, also recruited 2 new volunteers on the day; more are needed so please give us a call if you would like information.

We raised over £200 in just 4 hours with the sale of tea and cakes, our superior Tombola stall and 'Guess the number of Balloons' in our Smart Car.
